1/700 Hasegawa Submarine I-361/I-171

This kit includes highly detailed waterline submarines and includes I361 and I171. I-361 operated as a supply sub making runs to Wake Island. In 1945, she was outfitted w/ 5 Kaiten and sent to attack the US Invasion fleet. She was sunk on May 31, 1945 after evading US Forces for several days. A TBF Avenger utilzed sonobouys and a Mark 24 "FIDO" acoustic tracking torpedo to sink I-361. I-171 operated through WW2 and while on supply duty was depth charged and sunk by DD-472 USS GUest and DD-475 USS Hudson on February 1, 1944, off of Buka Island.
