Wrapping Up the Year at GaelHobbies — Looking Ahead to 2026!

As we close out 2025, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on what this year has meant for GaelHobbies and where we’re heading next. What started years ago as a personal passion for scale modeling has continued to grow into something I’m genuinely proud of — a shop built by modelers, for modelers. This past year brought a steady stream of new kits, aftermarket details, and accessories into the store — AND another year of sustained growth and our best year in sales ever, in a tough market! From classic aircraft subjects to armor, ships, and figures, one of my goals has always been to offer items that add enjoyment to the build, not just fill shelf space. Whether it’s a beautifully engineered kit, a high-quality photo-etched set, or a small detail part that brings a model to life, those are the products I enjoy sourcing the most. GaelHobbies is also very much a hands-on operation. Every item added, packed, and shipped reflects my family’s own enthusiasm for the hobby. We try to approach the shop the same way I approach a build at the bench — thoughtfully, carefully, and with attention to detail. That mindset has helped guide decisions about what brands to carry, which scales to expand, and how to support both newer builders and longtime hobbyists. The Horten Ho 229B was a projected development of the German Horten Ho 229 jet-powered flying wing fighter-bomber of World War II. Designed by the Horten brothers, the aircraft represented one of the most radical and futuristic concepts of its time, combining stealth-oriented aerodynamics with advanced propulsion. The “B” variant was envisioned as a two-seat, night-fighter version of the original single-seat Ho 229A. It would have been equipped with radar and additional avionics for nighttime interception missions, with space for a radar operator alongside the pilot. The Ho 229’s all-wing layout promised reduced drag and increased lift efficiency, while its wooden composite structure—partly chosen due to wartime material shortages—offered some radar-absorbing qualities, making it one of the earliest aircraft associated with stealth concepts. Powered by twin Junkers Jumo 004 turbojet engines, the Ho 229B, if completed, would have combined high speed, long range, and potentially reduced radar visibility in a way unmatched by other German aircraft of the era.
