1/350 Bronco German Submarine Type U-IXC
1/350 Bronco German Submarine Type U-IXC
This kit will make a great collection for your submarine fleet.
Germany began to develop a U-IX large-scale submarine capable of ocean-going operations and patrol missions from 1935-1936. The prerequisites for long-range operations meant that the smaller U-VII system would not be suited, so the U-IX system was created. There are several variants of the U-IX series, and their appearances are slightly different from each other. U-IXC’s design has a larger fuel tank than other U-IX series, which can store an additional 43 tons of fuel, but one of the periscopes was removed. A total of 35 patrol-type U-IXCs were built and a total of 19 Bray-types. The submarine has a length of 76.8 meters and a full-load displacement of 1,408 tons. U-IXC can cruise 46,000 Km at a speed of 10 nautical miles on the surface of the water. Its larger speed is 18 nautical miles or submerged at 7.5 nautical miles. The whole boat has a total of six torpedo tubes and is designed to be 4 front and 2 rear. It can launch a total of 22 torpedoes while the mine-lay U-IXC can carry 44 torpedoes. Defensive weapons are 105mm guns and anti-aircraft guns mounted on the command tower. The U-511 of U-IXC type was provided to Japan for use in September 1943, and the number was changed to RO 500. The boat surrendered to the US military in 1945, but was sunk several months later.
