We have a full line of accessories this week for the P-51D Mustang. Adding figures really sets the tone for the diorama and adds to the realism of the scene. This P-51D crew set includes 4 personnel in various positions coordinating the installation of the drop tank.

The use of drop tanks allowed the Mustang to escort the bombers for the entire duration of their mission. The tanks were jettisoned before combat to ensure maximum maneuverability was maintained for the P-51. The tanks were deemed disposable and frequent chang-outs would occur after every mission to ensure the maximum amount of fuel was available for each aircraft.
